I hate so many things about hypotryroidism, that it is too hard to pick just one so I guess what i hate most is that I have it.

For me, it would have to be the lack of energy. I can wake up from 9 hours of sleep needing a nap! lol
I also am T1 diabetic and have chronic sinusitis; any of these conditions alone can make you fatigued-Ive got a triple whammy! :(

I have to agree that for me the weight gain is the worst, followed by a close second with the forgetfullness. I couldn't understand why at age 49 I was suddenly so forgetful. I've been on anti-anxiety medication for the stress of living with chronic back pain after two failed back surgeries, and at first I thought it was the medication (first it was Xanax, now it's Valium), but then when I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, it was like a lightbulb went off in my brain! Now that I'm taking the Synthroid, I feel much more alert-more like the self I used to be. I'm kind of surprised that during the 3 years my orthopedist's PA kept telling me "boy you have brittle nails", that she didn't figure it out, but I guess that's not her area of expertise.

I guess my line-up would be #1-weight gain and not being able to get it off very easily, #2 close second with lack of energy,-followed by close #3—forgetfulness. They are all pretty high on my list. I thought maybe it was due to medication also because I am a cronic pain sufferer. but I have been off the mind drugs and it didn't change anything. I still do not take synthroid because it is not good for the bones either. ( I have osteosporisis already.) I did take it for many yrs because I was surgically forced into the menopause at 32. I have been told that the surgery at that time probably saved my life, but it certainly didn't help my bone condition.
